Innovative Server Engineer

(Location: San Mateo, CA)

The next generation Web isn't just about using Ajax in the browser to
achieve better interactivity. It's about a new division of labor between
the client and the server, one in which the old page-generation paradigm
is replaced with more fine-grained, data-centric client-server
interactions, and where real-time communication, media streaming, and
peer-to-peer interaction transform how the Web works.

Laszlo Systems, the creator of the OpenLaszlo open source development
platform, is seeking full-time or contract developers in the SF bay area
who want to seize the opportunity to define a new model for server-based
Web development, to accompany the new Ajax and RIA (rich Internet
application) client. The ideal candidate will have real depth of
experience with the current generation of Web application development
including its various platforms, scaling and structuring techniques.

If you are interested in working with technology that inspires your
inner geek, yet still produces software that your mother will enjoy, you
will want to join us in creating next generation web applications that
will be used by millions of people. We agree with Alan Kay when he said,
"The best way to predict the future is to invent it."

Skills:

  • Strong Java language expertise
  • Server-side development and integration: Java Servlet, LDAP, SOAP, database, etc.
  • Web technology savvy: XML, REST, HTML, Javascript
  • Understanding of dynamic Web application architecture and deployment
  • Web UI development: JSP, HTML, LZX
  • Experience with open source software a plus

If you are creative, team-oriented, do brilliant work on deadline and
can work in the San Francisco Bay Area, email your resume as a Word,
